Clothing alterations and made-to-measure work
ÄTELIER is an alterations tailor and made-to-measure atelier in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. We shorten and alter trousers, skirts, dresses, jackets and coats, correct fit and proportion, and take on detailed work for one-off pieces. Wedding dress and evening wear alterations are a particular focus, alongside selected made-to-measure commissions. We welcome clients from Berlin and Brandenburg.
Part of our capacity is reserved for long-standing FRILISA clients. We also welcome new clients and accept work at a level that allows enough time for accurate fittings and careful craftsmanship.

Garment restyling
Some garments are worth keeping for reasons that go beyond the fabric. We carefully rework inherited and much-loved pieces that no longer feel current or comfortable. A change in silhouette, length or detail can give an older wedding dress or formal gown a new purpose without erasing its history. The work can cost more than buying something new, but for the right piece it is a personal and resource-conscious choice.

A good fit comes from looking at the garment on you. That is why every job begins with an in-person fitting.
Consultation
We discuss the occasion, the fit you want and what is possible, either with the garment in front of us or from your idea.
Fitting
We pin the garment, check its proportions and agree which alterations will make a real difference.
Tailoring
The work is completed in our Berlin atelier, carefully and with respect for the original garment.
Final fitting
We check the fit, length and freedom of movement. The job is complete when the whole garment sits as it should.

Tailor in
Berlin-Wilmersdorf.
Our atelier is at Uhlandstraße 130, near Hohenzollernplatz underground station and about five minutes from KaDeWe. Consultation, fitting and tailoring all take place here. For wedding dresses and evening wear, please bring the shoes and underwear you plan to wear whenever possible.
Visits are by appointment only. The hours below are business hours, not walk-in opening times: we are usually working in the atelier or seeing clients, but may occasionally be away for an external appointment. Booking ahead means we can set aside the time your fitting needs.

What clothing alterations do you offer in Berlin?
We shorten trousers, skirts and dresses, alter sleeves and hems, and adjust width, waist and proportion. We also undertake more involved work on business wear, high-quality individual pieces, wedding dresses and evening wear.
Can you alter my wedding dress in Berlin?
Yes. We fit wedding dresses to your figure and the silhouette you want. Typical work includes the hem, straps, sleeves, bodice and lace. Please bring the shoes and underwear you plan to wear to the fitting whenever possible.
What should I bring to a fitting?
Bring the garment you would like us to alter. For dresses, trousers and formalwear, it also helps to bring the shoes and any underwear that affects the fit.
How long do alterations take?
That depends on the garment and the work involved. After the first fitting, we can assess the job and agree a realistic completion date with you.
Do you offer made-to-measure clothing in Berlin?
Yes. Alongside alterations, we make selected garments to measure. We develop the fit and proportions with you over the fittings the piece requires.
Can I visit without an appointment?
We work by appointment only. The hours shown are business hours rather than walk-in opening times, and we may be away at an external appointment. Please arrange your visit by email or phone so that we can reserve enough time for you.
